Lao Cooking Classes

To cook Lao food is to remember. To share it is to resist erasure. These classes invite anyone who is curious and respectful to take part in keeping Lao culture present, practiced, and passed on.

About The Lao Project Cooking Classes

The Lao Project cooking classes are an act of cultural preservation. Lao food carries history, memory, and ways of living that have long existed outside the mainstream in the US. These classes exist so those traditions are not lost, softened, or forgotten.

Through cooking together, we keep Lao culture visible and alive. Each dish is taught with intention, honoring the hands, stories, and generations that carried it forward long before it appeared in a recipe or classroom. This is not about trends or performance. It is about protecting what has quietly endured.

Receive stories behind the dishes

Every dish has a story, and every story has a life. The Lao Project shares the voices, traditions, and journeys of Lao people across the US, people whose culture and cuisine continue to thrive. Click to explore the faces, memories, and stories that inspire the food you’re learning to cook.

Discover the Stories Behind the Dishes

Step into the stories behind the dishes. Hear the whispers of flavors, the meaning behind each ingredient, and know when the next gatherings will warm the table. Join a class, and my family’s recipes become yours, meant to be cooked, shared, and carried forward, like a quiet love, into your own home. Drop your email below.
